Route Foreman

Job Summary:

Route Foremen direct drivers to ensure productive and safe collection of construction and recycling waste services are achieved. They possess the ability to manage crews in order to achieve productivity and safety goals. Foremen must be able to provide reports on productivity, accidents and injuries. The hours and physical demand may vary based on route or area. This position requires commitment, dedication and the willingness to perform this role to its fullest. This induvial accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests from departments and or customers. Route Foreman must possess the ability to accommodate any last minute requests forthcoming from all parties.     

Responsibilities of the Position:

Enforcement of Company Policies, Procedures and following the Core Values of the Company which are Integrity, Excellence, Safety, One Team, Training and Focused.

Route Foreman oversees the daily activities of the drivers. This includes setting and relaying goals for the employees, checking on employees and routes during each day, and using the radios/devices to check in route progress.  They ensure daily routes are completed by assigned driver.  Route Foreman hires, disciplines and terminates employees as appropriate together with the Operations Manager. They monitor all quality and safety standards for compliance and ensure goals are met or exceeded. They ensure compliance of Company, Federal, State and local DOT/ safety regulations governing the waste industry.

Advanced communication skills, the ability to manage multiple employees and tasks as well as to work within a team environment are requirements for the Route Foreman.
